We’ve improved our alert system for potential fraud. You can Expect the Best® in fraud detection from Liberty National Bank.
New Fraud Prevention Service
In our continuing efforts to keep your accounts secure, we’ve improved our alert system for potential fraud. Here’s how it works:
  1. When potential fraud is detected, you will receive an automatic email notification, with the option to reply with “fraud” or “no fraud.”
  2. One minute after the email, you will receive a text alert, which also has the “fraud” or “no fraud” option.
  3. If there is no response received, you will then receive automatic phone calls to confirm or deny fraud. The call will also give the option of speaking to a fraud analyst.
Remember -- our messages will never ask for your PIN or account number.

The phone number for our Fraud Center has changed to 1-800-417-4592. If you add this number to your phone contacts and label it “Fraud Center,” it will display on your phone whenever you get a call from this number.

If you need to contact the Fraud Center, it will be an automated service and will ask several questions verifying the recent activity on your card.
The Fraud Center will contact you only if potential fraud has been detected on your debit card. If you notice potential fraud on your debit card and have not been contacted by the Fraud Center, please contact the Bank at 419-674-2430.



ALERT Concerning Signature Based Debit Cards
Due to increasing fraudulent transactions on signature based debit card transactions, Liberty National Bank has required the following states to use a PIN to complete their debit card transaction.

If you currently do not know your PIN number for your debit card, please contact your local office so that a new PIN can be ordered for you. The PIN will be directly mailed to you in 7 to 10 business days.

Please note: Debit Cards are not available for use in any foreign country.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are confident that this measure will make sure your card and account will be more secure against fraud.

  • Update your contact information with your financial institution. Your bank can't ask you about a suspicious charge unless it has your current phone number.
  • Copy the customer service phone number from the back of each of your debit or credit cards and keep this list in a separate location from your purse or wallet in case a thief steals the latter.
  • Let issuers know your travel dates and destination. If your card gets swiped at an unusual location, the card issuer may decline the suspicious transaction.
  • Sign up for smsGuardian banking alerts. These will inform you when particular changes occur, such as irregular card activity.
  • Always keep your credit or debit card in a safe and secure place. Treat it as you would cash or checks.
  • Do not send your card number through email, as it is typically not secure.
  • Do not give out your card number over the phone unless you initiated the call.
  • Regularly review your account statements as soon as you receive them to verify transactions. Contact Liberty National Bank immediately if you identify any discrepancies.
  • If you have forgotten your PIN or would like to select a new one, please contact your local Liberty National Bank office.
  • Ensure no one sees your PIN when you enter it. Memorize your PIN. Donít write it down anywhere, especially on your card, and never share it with anyone.
  • Cancel and cut up unused credit and other cards. If you receive a replacement card, destroy your old card.
  • Shop with merchants you know and trust.
  • Make sure any internet purchase is secured with encryption to protect your account information. Look for secure transaction symbols such as a lock symbol in the lower right-hand corner of your web browser, or “https://Ö” in the address bar of the website. The “s” indicates “secured” and means the web page uses encryption.
  • Always log off from any website after a purchase transaction is made with your credit or debit card. If you cannot log off, shut down your browser to prevent unauthorized access to your account information.
  • Safe-keep or securely dispose of your transaction receipts.
